How did we get our start? In 1837, Wilhelm Jordan moved to Christiania, as Norway's capital, Oslo, was then known as. Together with two fellow comb-makers, he established a modest comb-making business in the city centre on 5 August 1837, which today has evolved into one of Europe's leading brush factories.

Jordan Today With a strong heritage and experience in brush making, Jordan has continued to evolve its business. Today Jordan is divided into three different areas; Oral care, Home care and House care.

Oral care without compromise We know that good oral care is an important part of keeping good health. Jordan has helped people with tailored quality products and encouragement to take care of their teeth for decades. Therefore, we have developed Green Clean, a toothbrush range with extra focus on careful use of resources, without compromising on the quality of your oral care.

Why reclaimed plastics? Plastic is a fantastic material – used correctly. The material allows us to make safe, hygienic and functional toothbrushes. However, virgin plastic is based on non-renewable sources. Plastic that is already in the ecosystem should be reused. By using reclaimed plastics, we are using waste instead of virgin natural resources as well as reducing litter.

100% bio-based The nylon in the filaments of the bristles is made from castor-oil and is 100% bio-based. The castor oil is extracted from the castor oil plant, which is a natural and renewable resource. It can grow well on marginal lands and under a wide range of hostile conditions and will not compete with the agricultural sector that produces food and fibres. The bristles do not contain colorants.

Saving the Planet By using reclaimed material, we maintain the value of materials for as long as possible, and are part of a circular economy. As such, we minimize waste and resource use, giving products and materials new lives. For instance, the toothbrush handle is made of reclaimed plastic originating from food containers, and the packaging is made of reclaimed paper fibres from paper-based products.

Sustainability without compromise The paper container for the Jordan Green Clean material is made from scrap papers from paper industries and unwanted commercial boxes collected by the waste handling industries. By using this paper scrap creatively, it is salvaged into something protective and useful.
